ready for a comeback?

this is a homemade treat i created yesterday. i'm calling it the EEUSA. *copyright pending.
I'm taking baby steps back into the wild world of corndawggin. I've taken a processed/fried food hiatus for the past year, but now I'm just about ready to start a summer filled of deep fried goodness!

My mom is COOL!

I've been totally illin' and kinda getting a little frustrated with eating....neverending stomach bug??

My mom was super sweet and picked me up a 16-pack of corndogs to help motivate my insides to chill out and absorb some goodness!

 THANKS MOM!

t-shirt envy

last year a trio of us ventured to the ultra special lost city of atlanta to celebrate my birthday and corndogs and live music.  on one steamy hotlanta afternoon, Sir Malcom purchased the best t-shirt $5 could buy.  I knew i should have picked one up too  (i spent all my money on corndogs that day).....i hate t-shirt envy, but still get wicked hyped when i see him wear it.

NCD Poster.preview.jpg

Hello corndawggers!

I've been lax with the corndawggin' posts, i haven't been keeping up to date with all the event planning.....So i've got everything in the works, and all i really need is a host site.....which i suppose is the most important one of them all, i have an idea, but need to talk it over with a few people and then we'll be trucking onto the main event!!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR. 3-23-2010
again, details later. there's always time for details.

SSL Take 2

What's more exciting than your own refrigerator of condiments - obviously someone elses!!  I was house sitting and figured i'd take advantage of a couple items i didn't have and then some others i love anyway.  I think i'll be checking out other people's kitchens more often for more options in the near future, it's pretty fun, because there are hundrends of differernt condiments and everyone likes different things and i'm sure the taste testing will get pretty interesting at some point real soon....

This Week's Contestants:
  • White & Purple Farmer's Horseradish
  • Hellmann's Light Mayonnaise
  • Marie's Lite Chunky Blue Cheese
  • House of Tsang: Bangkok Padang Peanut Sauce

I'm a big fan of horseradish period. I was a little discouraged by the date on both bottles, so i didn't eat a whole lot of either, just in case it was spoiled . . . . horseradish kinda smells funky as is so i wouldn't even know what rancid horseradish would taste like . . . . it tasted fine and i am once again here talking about it.

The light mayo was my least favorite. It didn't taste like regular Hellmann's mayo, it just was this synthetic mayo-ish flavor, which could have been what "healthy mayo" is supposed to taste like. I don't believe in healthy mayo alternatives - Have you ever read what's in real mayo?? how can a healthy alternative exist?

I was pleasantly surprised with both the Padang peanut sauce and the thick blue cheese salad dressing. The sweet and salty combination with the Padang was pretty stellar and addictive. The chunky blue cheese was great (if you like blue cheese dressing, try this with buffalo wings or something spicy, it's sooooooo good!).

      Sunday Safe Lunch

Playin' it a little safe the first time around........

I did some sampling a couple weeks ago with a newly purchased box-o-corndawgs from Target,  I really couldn't decide what i wanted to dip it in, so i picked a few condiment randoms from the fridge. This ultimately sparked the idea for the Sunday Safe Lunch segment

Grey Poupon (but of course!)                                                                                        Heinz Organic Ketchup

Jalapeno Jam (from Amish peeps in PA)                                                                            French's Yellow Mustard

I was pretty exited and very pleased with all 4 selections - yes, even the Jalapeno Jam. It's sweetness totally worked well with the salty corndog and the spiciness of the Jalapeno complemented the cornbread batter.  This Jam is off-the-hook on bread, sandwiches and even when mixed with cream cheese.

I usually am a ketchup gal with my corndogs, the ketchup was a little off - i blame the retroactive 5 month expiration date  and I don't usually consume much requiring ketchup.  Mustard is the old corndawggin' standby, dijon vs. yellow is merely a preference i tend to base on other items i may eat with the corndog, or what mood i'm in. either way you can't go wrong!

      Get your dip on~
